Available courses

This course introduces students to the major literary genres in English literature, exploring their types, characteristics, and historical development. Through a critical analysis of representative texts, students will examine the formal and thematic features of various genres, including poetry, drama, novel, essay, and others.

Through a critical analysis of representative texts, students will examine the formal and thematic features of various genres, including poetry, drama, novel, essay, and others.

ii. Unit 2: Fiction- This unit explores the development and diversity of fiction in English literature, from the 18th century to the present day. Students will analyze and interpret a range of novels and short stories, examining their historical and cultural contexts, literary devices, and thematic concerns.

iii. Unit 3: Drama- This unit explores the development and diversity of drama in English literature, from the medieval period to the present day. Students will analyze and interpret a range of plays, examining their historical and cultural contexts, dramatic structures, and thematic concerns.

iv. Unit 4: Non-Fiction- This unit explores the diverse and dynamic genre of nonfiction in English literature, from the Renaissance to the present day. Students will analyze and interpret a range of nonfiction texts, including essays, biographies, memoirs, travelogues, and critical writings.
